Ron Paul - A Permanent Revolution

This is an awesome video that really got me pumped about continuing the fight in re[love]utionizing the Republican Party and eventually America. The music and the visuals are perfect, and it doesn't hurt that it puts forth a great message about keeping up our efforts to not only support this great man, but further the ideals he stands for.

But you really need to Wake Up From Your Slumber, seriously.

Fuck sake, save the GoP, not likely

Not sure that waking up is synonymous with giving up - which you seem to be advocating we do w/ the GOP. That mindset seems endemic of the kind of cynicism that renders people politically useless. Unless we remain engaged in the party system, we're as good as giving up not just on parties, but America as a whole.

Unless we remain engaged in the party system, we're as good as giving up not just on parties, but America as a whole.

If you remain engaged in the "party system", you have been seduced by its promises and you may as well give up on America. It is the party system you are so desperate to cling to that has been giving you the "tweedle-dumb, tweedle-dumber", "meet the old king, same as the new king" deal for as long as the United States has existed. Add to that the fundamentally undemocratic "delegate" and "electoral college" impediments to change and you will see the powers that be pretty much have the whole thing sown up.

I don't know why Americans tolerate the delegate system and computerised voting machines that can't be audited and that don't issue a receipt. It's totally surreal. 'American democracy' is now as oxymoronic as 'virtual reality' or 'military intelligence'. The corporate-govt-media control matrix is wrapped so tight around America that people don't seem to be able to think anymore.

Truth Seeker--there can be a party system, but an every party system, all parties in every debate equal time on the MSM and no bias in the media, there are at least 10-15 political parties with supporters, the media has censored them and this is treasonous..constitution,peace and freedom, the green parties must all have equal airtime..

Truth Seeker07 | Fri, 2008-03-07 06:35

Your suggestion is to, what? Sit in your basement and bitch about it online?

Because that's all I've seen you and about a thousand others do who are too pure for the process. Who are so wrapped up in their own self-righteousness that all they can do is convene in chat rooms and whine about "the powers that be" instead of try to enact real change.

Really - name one thing, one action in the real world that you're prepared to undertake other than complaining to the choir about the way things are.

NDP,
As I am not a US Citizen and I don't live in the US, there is very little I can do, except wait and see who takes over the throne.

Nom de Plum, you asked for suggestions, yes? I'd suggest directing all and sundry to www.iamthewitness.com. A whole lot more people need to read what Henry Ford wrote, Benjamin Freedman said, Archibald Ramsay wrote, etc.

Ron had a HUGE opportunity to indicate to the Woken Up segment of the population that he was against the War on Terra lie. But he didn't. His gold standard ideas don't pass the smell test neither.

When the economic shit really hits, people will maybe be upset enough to demand some changes. THE QUESTION IS: will they have sufficient understanding of the underlying problem to bring about a change for the better?

I'd LOVE to hear intelligent criticism of any of the books on DBS' site. Spare me the usual bullshit however.

Spare me the usual bullshit however.

What 'usual bullshit' would that be?
