Now that USS Cole and support ships have entered the water in the Gulf through Suez Canal while additional American destroyer ships arrived in Lebanon, coinciding with the fixed March 11 national election in Lebanon and Saudi Arabia & U.S. embassies warning the respective nationals residing and traveling in Lebanon, it's logical to raise the red alert to the possibility of a false flag attack or preemptive invasion of Syria (or Iran) at this moment.
Something is about to get ugly, with Israel's plan of attack on Gaza and Lebanon with military and intelligence support of U.S. warships while U.S. awaits Syria-Iran's (military pact) response in retaliatory aggression or warring word that might signal the preparation to subdue the hostile nation responding to Israeli aggression or another type of undisputedly illegal action that breach the regional security of one or more nations trying to defend themselves from Israeli-American provocation.
George W. Bush has reiterated his position that Americans will be ready to defend Israel at any cost when Israel's security faces peril of attack on the preconceived "Jewish state," even if retaliatory in nature. In other words, U.S. fights for Israel, contrary to George Washington's warning of entanglement with a foreign power overseas in the 1796 farewell address. The purported "War on Terror" is really about Israel's security and expansionism -- beginning with the successful smokescreen in the execution of 9/11 inside job and overthrow of Iraq to remove Saddam Hussein as not only America's enemy (former ally) but Israel's as well.
According to "Roads to Iraq" report, "Jordanian newspaper Al-Arab Al-Youm [in Arabic] reported today [March 4, 2008], through sources that an American message leaked by Egypt to Syria shows that the United States is ready to launch a broad military operation against Syria if it insists on its position on the Lebanese crisis and this is the real reason behind the deployment of 'USS Cole' in front of the Syrian - Lebanese waters."
It's too much of a coincidence that Bush-Cheney White House offers to lift the foreign aid freeze numbering in a hundred million to Egypt for the "official" purpose of increasing national security to assist Egyptian military with Secretary of State (and diplomat-apologist for Israeli atrocities against Lebanon and Palestine as an African-American Zionist) Condoleezza Rice "attempting" to press the peace accord with Israel and Palestinian National Authority while visiting Egypt on the trip.
What Rice does not know (or she knows and condone Israeli policy, which is appeasement amounting to treason) is that Israel is impervious to peace overtures and truces, because such pleads and offers interfere with their vision of expansionism to fulfill the megalomaniacally ethnocentric & tangible Zionist goal of establishing Greater Israel, or at least extend its influence in iron-fisted geopolitical hegemony of Middle East-Central Asia region by redrawing the borders to eliminate the hostile factions antagonistic to Zionist Imperial goals.
To the Zionists I say "All hail Greater Israel," because Israel will be the chief instigator of World War III dragging U.S. into the bottomless abyss of imbroglio. For this Zionist regime of Israel's days will be numbered in the near future.

I am not as sure as most people here that Israel or the US will attack either Lebanon, Syria or Iran. Quite some time ago, I had a similar exchange with Claymore.. I do realize that everything signals that such an attack would take place.. but despite the presence of the entire US navy in the Gulf for a long time now, nothing has happened. It seems that Iran is right when it says that the US cannot afford to embroil itself in any additional trouble over and above Afghanistan and Iraq.
The Middle East is not what it was a few years ago. Israel is not what it was a few years ago... and the same applies to the US.
If one was to judge by the usual criteria we know about the Arab/Israeli conflict... one could say easily that yes, Israel and the US will do this and that.., but things on the ground in the Middle East are different. Even Arab governments are having a hard time catching up with the changes on the grounds of the Middle East..
Was the Hamas phenomenon predicted by either the US, Israel or the Arab "moderates" who should be the first to know? It wasn't. It was however predicted and known by other forces on the ground..
I don't know if I am making any sense..
