The US Should Rethink Our Support of Israel
The evening on CBS Evening News, the top story was a brutal killing of 7 students in a Jewish School [student-soldiers at a racist school established by the notorious Rabbi Kook] in East Jerusalem. The television had scenes from the incident and words from President Bush condemning the carnage. The group that took credit for the attack was Hezbollah and they claimed it was in retaliation for an attack on them in Lebanon that killed their #2 man in the organization. While I am in no way excusing the attack in Israel, I would like to point out something that came up halfway through the news report.
This was the mention that over 100 Palestinian people had been killed by The Israeli Self Defense Forces in their recent assault in Gaza. This was only part of the carnage brought about by the Jewish State, as they have systematically caused the deaths of thousands of men, women and children that had the misfortune to live there. The 100 that died in the recent attacks over the last few days were also men, women and children, but I didn’t hear President Bush decry their deaths. It seems as if Palestinians are expendable while Jewish blood is somehow more sacred than the deaths of the people of Gaza. The report that the attacks were not even carried out in Israel by the Palestinians themselves speaks volumes.
When is our government going to take an even-handed approach to the killing in and around Israel? Is it no wonder that the Arab States in the region are loath to sit down with American and Israeli diplomats to end this killing once and for all? Where is the Israeli impetus to end the bloodshed when it has the promise of American support for any type of violence that may be directed towards them regardless who was at fault This unconditional support is probably the prime reason that Israel has absolutely no desire to broker a meaningful peace treaty. Why should they make concessions to the Arabs when they have the blind support of the U.S.? They can continue their genocide in Gaza with no fear of repercussion. The only truly powerful State that has the tenacity to resist Israel’s plans is Iran, and they have their own problems with the United States.
The only thing that will bring peace to the region lies with the American people. Once we realize that we are not supporting a struggling democracy that is surrounded on all sides by enemies but rather is the predominant military power in the region, will we realize that most of what we see and hear is pure propaganda. Israel has over 300 nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them. The Israelis can take care of themselves in a conventional war also. The Arab governments surrounding Israel have either signed peace treaties with the Jewish State or are so fractured internally that they are virtually powerless against Israeli aggression.
The Jewish state has also become one of the leading right-wing states in the world. The term Zionism which was a propaganda tool twenty years ago has evolved into an absolutely real and threatening reality. The promise of the Jewish State as a peaceful homeland for the Jewish people has turned into something completely different. Almost every dollar we send to Israel for aid comes back to us in AIPAC money to buy our elected officials support for all they do. The American people hold the key that will stop the rampant rise of militarism in Israel. It’s time we called on our elected officials to stop giving Israel Carte Blanch to wreck havoc in the area with their military machine. A good indicator of a man is the company it keeps; this can also be said of nations. We must not be the card that Israel holds up its sleeve during any threat from those that are tired of the killing.
That’s the way I see it.

The Cost of Freedom
I am sympathetic to the article, but I am afraid that it is too optimistic and maybe even naive.
It is not a matter of US reigning in Israel, that is a matter for the Israelis to do, but they should face the consequences of their actions, which they do not. Leading members of the Israeli society are even urging the Israeli citizens to flee the Promised Land. They have trashed every country which has shown them hospitality, and they will trash the Promised Land as well because "they have never known the Father nor me" (John 16:3)
They rely on the full force of the US military machinery and political establishment, which they own; we have Sharon's word for that, and if you are in doubt, you can check the presidential candidates against the list of "good for Israel" candidates published by the Israeli newspaper Haaretz. There is no serious candidate for president of the US without endorsement by the Zionists. Just look at who gets the press coverage (by a press owned by the same Zionists).
In other words, it is not about the US reigning in Israel, it is about Americans reigning in the US. For a change that will not depend on military aggression but on the American people's legitimate right to rule in their own country.
Truth Seeker-- the only candidates that have supported palestinian rights have been censored by the MSM..Ron paul and ralph nader would if in power abolish any aid to zion and arrest the treasonous israel-firsters in this country led by LIE-berman, also pro zionists like hagee, abe foxman and dershitwitz..these people have an allegiance to zion first and last as they hate the US..Any new president should immediately round up these people and their banker supporters..put them in fema camps where they can't spit their filth on any MSm show..

Rep. Ron Paul Stands Alone in Voting Against Gaza Bill
Friday, 07 March 2008
On Wednesday, March 5, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 951, which condemns the ongoing Palestinian rocket attacks on Israeli civilians, holding both Iran and Syria responsible for “sponsoring terror attacks.” Additionally, the resolution claims that “those responsible for launching rocket attacks against Israel routinely embed their production facilities and launch sites amongst the Palestinian civilian population, utilizing them as human shields …”. For the full text of House Resolution 951, please click here.
This resolution problematically includes a strong defense of the recent Israeli incursions in Gaza. The following is one such exert: “Whereas the inadvertent inflicting of civilian casualties as a result of defensive military operations aimed at military targets, while deeply regrettable, is not at all morally equivalent to the deliberate targeting of civilian populations as practiced by Hamas and other Gaza-based terrorist groups…”
The resolution passed the House with an unequivocal majority of 404 to 1 with four representatives voting present and nineteen abstaining. Who was the lone Member of Congress to stand up to the Israel Lobby?
Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) not only voted against HR 951, but also made a very strong statement explaining why he opposed such a biased pro-Israel statement.
Below is Rep. Paul's statement he gave to the House before the vote:
Mr. Speaker I rise in opposition to H. Res. 951, a resolution to condemn Palestinian rocket attacks on Israeli civilians. As one who is consistently against war and violence, I obviously do not support the firing of rockets indiscriminately into civilian populations. I believe it is appalling that Palestinians are firing rockets that harm innocent Israelis, just as I believe it is appalling that Israel fires missiles into Palestinian areas where children and other non-combatants are killed and injured.
Unfortunately, legislation such as this is more likely to perpetuate violence in the Middle East than contribute to its abatement. It is our continued involvement and intervention – particularly when it appears to be one-sided – that reduces the incentive for opposing sides to reach a lasting peace agreement.
Additionally, this bill will continue the march toward war with Iran and Syria, as it contains provocative language targeting these countries. The legislation oversimplifies the Israel/Palestine conflict and the larger unrest in the Middle East by simply pointing the finger at Iran and Syria. This is another piece in a steady series of legislation passed in the House that intensifies enmity between the United States and Iran and Syria. My colleagues will recall that we saw a similar steady stream of provocative legislation against Iraq in the years before the US attack on that country.
I strongly believe that we must cease making proclamations involving conflicts that have nothing to do with the United States. We incur the wrath of those who feel slighted while doing very little to slow or stop the violence.
The Council for the National Interest denounces H.R. 951 and encourages our members to call their Representative to let them know that this approval of Israeli aggression and flagrant human rights abuses is unacceptable. To find out how your Representative voted, please

Whereas more than 4,000 rockets and mortar shells have been fired at Israel from
the Gaza Strip by Hamas and other terrorist organizations since Israeli forces
withdrew from there in... (Engrossed as Agreed to or Passed by House)
H. RES. 951 In the House of Representatives, U. S., March 5, 2008.
Whereas more than 4,000 rockets and mortar shells have been fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip by Hamas and other terrorist organizations since Israeli forces withdrew from there in 2005;
Whereas, since January 1, 2008, terrorists have fired nearly a thousand rockets and mortar shells into Israel;
Whereas the near-daily rocket fire has been targeted primarily and intentionally at civilian communities in Israel, such as Sderot and Ashkelon, making life in such areas agonizing;
Whereas the terrorist rockets have hit homes, schools, buildings, roads, power lines, and other such infrastructure in Israel;
Whereas these unprovoked rocket and mortar attacks have murdered over a dozen
Israelis, inflicted hundreds of casualties, produced thousands of cases of shock and posttraumatic stress, especially among children, and caused severe disruption of daily life;
Whereas these deliberate cross-border rocket and mortar attacks on civilian populations constitute a blatant violation of human rights and international law;
Whereas those responsible for launching rocket attacks against Israel routinely embed their production facilities and launch sites amongst the Palestinian civilian population,utilizing them as human shields;
Whereas intentionally targeting civilian populations and the use of human shields violates international humanitarian and human rights law;
Whereas numerous reports have cited the copious amounts of sophisticated weapons,
small arms, and weapons manufacturing materials that have been smuggled into Gaza through Egypt;
Whereas public reports have cited the role of Iran and Syria in providing material support and training to those carrying out rocket and other terrorist attacks from Gaza;
Whereas public reports have referenced the increased flow of ammunition, explosives, and higher-grade weapons into the Gaza Strip as a result of Hamas' breach of the 12-kilometer security fence separating Gaza from Egyptian Sinai on January 23, 2008;
Whereas it was reported that after the breach of the Egyptian-Gaza border, many
Palestinian terrorists who had trained in Syria and Iran returned to Gaza;
Whereas the fielding and use of longer-range rockets by Hamas and other terrorist organizations to reach larger Israeli cities represents a dangerous expansion of the organizations' offensive capabilities and an escalation of the terrorist attacks on Israel;
Whereas the Government of Israel's military operations in Gaza only target Hamas and other terrorist organizations;
Whereas the inadvertent inflicting of civilian casualties as a result of defensive military operations aimed at military targets, while deeply regrettable, is not at all morally
equivalent to the deliberate targeting of civilian populations as practiced by Hamas and other Gaza-based terrorist groups; and
Whereas the situation in the Gaza Strip remains a threat to international security and regional stability: Now, therefore, be it Resolved, That the
House of Representatives--
(1) strongly condemns--
(A) Hamas, which controls Gaza, and other Palestinian terrorist
organizations for the ongoing rocket attacks on Israeli civilians and
continued human rights violations;
(B) state sponsors of terror, such as Iran and Syria, for enabling
Palestinian terrorist organizations to carry out attacks against
innocent Israeli civilians; and
(C) the use of innocent Palestinian civilians as human shields by
those who carry out rocket and other attacks;
(2) expresses condolences to the families of the innocent victims on both
sides of the conflict;
(3) supports the sovereign right of the Government of Israel to defend its
territory against attacks;
(4) expresses sympathy and support for innocent Palestinian civilians who
reject all forms of terrorism and desire to live in peace with their Israeli
neighbors but who continue to be utilized as human shields by terrorist
organizations;
(5) considers rocket attacks against Israel and the fostering of terrorism in
the Palestinian territories as direct and serious impediments to the
achievement of Israeli-Palestinian peace;
(6) calls on the President to--
(A) direct the United States Permanent
Representative to the
United Nations to introduce a resolution within the United Nations
Security Council condemning Palestinian rocket and other attacks
against innocent Israeli civilians; and
(B) direct the Secretary of State to raise this issue in all applicable
bilateral and international fora;
(7) calls on responsible countries and United States allies in the Middle
East to officially and publicly condemn Palestinian rocket attacks and
other terrorist actions against Israel; and
(8) reaffirms the strong and unyielding friendship between the
Governments and the people of Israel and the United States.
Attest:
Clerk.
