Shakespeare was a Jewish Woman

For your amusement, here's yet another howler from the those whose elevated view of themselves never ceases to amaze...

From Jewcy

For hundreds of years, people have questioned whether William Shakespeare wrote the plays that bear his name. The mystery is fueled by the fact that his biography simply doesn't match the areas of knowledge and skill demonstrated in the plays. Nearly a hundred candidates have been suggested, but none of them fit much better. Now a new candidate named Amelia Bassano Lanier—the so-called 'Dark Lady' of the Sonnets and a member of an Italian/Jewish family—has been shown to be a perfect fit.

For the rationale that gave rise to this ludicrous claim, you'll have to read the full article, which you will find here

I am absolutely, positively certain that Amelia Bassano Lanier had no more to do with the composition of 'Shakspeare's' poems and plays than Wm. Shakspeare did-- unless it can be proven that she was so proficient at law as to have actually practiced it, &c.

Those interested in the subject of the Shakespearian authorship (and interested in reading some entertaining as well as edifying prose besides) would do well to refer to Twain's 'Is Shakespeare Dead?', available at http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/2431 .

It all make sense now, I always wondered why I hated Shakespeare so much...

I was persuaded by Mark Twain that Francis Bacon fits the bill (while Shakespeare certainly does not-- at least not anymore than Lanier does.)
