Lynchings In Congo As Penis Theft Panic Hits Capital

KINSHASA (Reuters) - Police in Congo have arrested 13 suspected sorcerers accused of using black magic to steal or shrink men's penises after a wave of panic and attempted lynchings triggered by the alleged witchcraft.

Reports of so-called penis snatching are not uncommon in West Africa, where belief in traditional religions and witchcraft remains widespread, and where ritual killings to obtain blood or body parts still occur.

Rumours of penis theft began circulating last week in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo's sprawling capital of some 8 million inhabitants. They quickly dominated radio call-in shows, with listeners advised to beware of fellow passengers in communal taxis wearing gold rings.

Purported victims, 14 of whom were also detained by police, claimed that sorcerers simply touched them to make their genitals shrink or disappear, in what some residents said was an attempt to extort cash with the promise of a cure.

"You just have to be accused of that, and people come after you. We've had a number of attempted lynchings. ... You see them covered in marks after being beaten," Kinshasa's police chief, Jean-Dieudonne Oleko, told Reuters on Tuesday.

Police arrested the accused sorcerers and their victims in an effort to avoid the sort of bloodshed seen in Ghana a decade ago, when 12 suspected penis snatchers were beaten to death by angry mobs. The 27 men have since been released.

"I'm tempted to say it's one huge joke," Oleko said.

"But when you try to tell the victims that their penises are still there, they tell you that it's become tiny or that they've become impotent. To that I tell them, 'How do you know if you haven't gone home and tried it'," he said.

Some Kinshasa residents accuse a separatist sect from nearby Bas-Congo province of being behind the witchcraft in revenge for a recent government crackdown on its members.

"It's real. Just yesterday here, there was a man who was a victim. We saw. What was left was tiny," said 29-year-old Alain Kalala, who sells phone credits near a Kinshasa police station.

I saw that video on Monsanto a couple of weeks ago - scary stuff given that they are putting in seed vaults at Svalbard and other locations worldwide.

There is now developing a shortage of Roundup or even generic glyphosphate for these "lazy" farmers. So they're stuck with the seed forever, no possibility of self sustaining seed replenishment, and now no herbicide, which by the way is killing the frogs and amphibians.

It's all a recipe for acquiring all the worlds arible land, then a massive depopulation, with the survivors reduced to total submission for the privilege of eating.

Better to die on your feet than live on your knees.

Whoever controls the food supply controls the world through engineered famines, which statistically kill more people than any other catastrophe, including war and disease. Therefore Monsanto is now vying for a global monopoly on food production.

As we know, Monsanto, headquartered in St. Louis, makes agent-orange, plus Round Up ® weed killer, plus myriad other toxic goodies. This is truly an evil company, and was for decades one of the worst polluters in the USA, having dumped countless gallons of dioxins and PCBs into the environment. Monsanto's toxic spills remain in litigation today.

Monsanto now produces genetically modified seeds that grow crops resistant to Monsanto’s Round Up ® weed killer. Some of these crops are wheat, corn, and especially soybeans, which have myriad industrial applications.

Now that Monsanto is close to achieving a global monopoly on genetically modified food crops, Monsanto will have a global monopoly on food production. “Food” includes plants and meat, since livestock consumes genetically modified plants.

Before 1980, no genetically modified crops were grown in the U.S., but by 2007 the total was 142 million acres in the USA and 282 million acres abroad.

Monsanto first introduced its genetically modified seeds in 1996. Since then, the company has launched hundreds of lawsuits against farmers and seed dealers. In 2007 alone, Monsanto filed 112 lawsuits in 27 states. Most farmers settle because they don’t have the money to fight a giant corporation. Hence the actual number of lawsuits is only the tip of the iceberg.

Monsanto spies on farmers, and sues them for all their assets. It harasses co-ops, seed dealers—anyone Monsanto thinks might have infringed on its patents of genetically modified seeds. A shadowy army of private agents combs the American heartland, striking terror into the farm country. The thugs infest fields and towns. They infiltrate community meetings. They pretend to be surveyors, gathering data from informants about farming activities. They confront farmers on private land, and pressure them to sign papers giving access to the farmers’ private records. Monsanto even maintains an 800 number that allows farmers to squeal on each other.

Farmers call these creeps the “seed police,” and use words such as “Gestapo” and “Mafia” to describe their tactics.

A NEW WORLD

For millennia, farmers have saved seeds from season to season. They plant in the spring, harvest in the fall, and then reclaim and clean seeds over the winter for re-planting the next spring.

Likewise, for nearly all of its history, the United States Patent and Trademark Office refused to grant patents on seeds, viewing them as life forms with too many variables to be patented.

In 1980, however, the U.S. Supreme Court turned seeds into widgets, extending patent law to cover “a live human-made microorganism.” The organism wasn’t even a seed; it was a Pseudomonas bacterium developed by a General Electric scientist to clean up oil spills. However the precedent was set, and Monsanto exploited it to become the world leader in genetic modification of seeds. So far Monsanto has been granted 674 biotechnology patents -- more than any other company.

When farmers buy Monsanto seeds, they must sign an agreement not to save any seeds after each harvest. They must not replant, nor sell their leftover seeds to anyone else. They must buy new seeds every year from Monsanto, which is a bonanza for Monsanto.

Meanwhile Monsanto is buying up conventional-seed companies left and right. In 2005, Monsanto paid $1.4 billion for Seminis, which controlled 40 percent of the U.S. market for lettuce, tomatoes, and other vegetable and fruit seeds. Two weeks later Monsanto acquired Emergent Genetics (the nation’s third-largest cottonseed company) for a mere $300 million.

(Monsanto’s access to mountains of cash makes me suspect that Monsanto is Jewish-controlled. The Chairman, President, & CEO of Monsanto is one Hugh Grant. The last name “Grant” occurs among Jews and non-Jews.)

Monsanto is now the largest seed company in the world, and controls 90 percent of the U.S. production of soybeans, used in countless food products. Almost all farmers must buy seeds from Monsanto every year.

Monsanto wants its monopoly to be global, and plays its Gestapo game with farmers in Iraq. In fact, one of L. Paul Bremer’s last acts as head of the Coalition Provisional Authority was to lay down an order stipulating that, “Iraqi farmers shall be prohibited from re-using seeds of protected varieties.”

The nightmare goes on an on.

The surname Monsanto appears in 6 databases (JKPQTY) of the Avotaynu Jewish surname index. That makes it a pretty common Jewish surname: most of the Jewish surnames on that site only appear in one or two. Monsanto is also on this list of Sephardic surnames.
