Bjerknes, as I distinctly recall upon reading a post on his blog awhile back, wrote that he himself is Jewish. I never said it. Nor do I really care. He seems to be a decent enough Jew. That is funny as all hell. I will remember that one. Rhiannon, the only reason I know about the whole "Mohammedan" term is because the English-language translation of Otto Wagener's memoirs utilizes that very term. So does the English-language translation of Hitler's Table-Talk. Depending on who is using the term and why makes a great deal of difference as you have pointed out: any Jew using this term is highly suspect on my own radar.
