Have the goddamn DOJ (Department of Justice), DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) and ONDCP (Office of National Drug Control Policy at the White House) ever heard of the Netherlands' success to contain widespread use of cannibais by eliminating black market monopoly by drug-dealing turf lords and actually earn the sizable profit to pay for government services? While I would never do hard addictive drugs (prescribed or illegal), excepting moderate usage of marijuana (it's been years and I was young), U.S.'s protracted and tax dollar-wasting War on Drugs is total bullshit. Ron Paul (he expounds on the illogics of waging Drug War at length in "The Revolution: A Manifesto") and Mike Gravel were right about War on Drugs being stupid and counterproductive, so they offered the solutions to not only destroy the black market by sending the drug dealing thugs controlling the turfs to the employment line but also substantially reduce the prisons filled to capacity by non-violent drug offenders with pardon provided drug offenders have minor or no psychiatric problems arising from the brutal reality of prison life, did not commit assault/threats and were not convicted of possessing illegally obtained firearms. U.S. and state governments are clueless and they create the solutions that only produce even worse results with draconian laws that fill prisons very quickly thereby wasting taxpayers' money diverting the financial resource to the black holes instead of implementing workable rehabilitation programs and partial legalization on condition of regulation like firearms, alcohol and tobacco (New York state an obvious example for execrable drug laws). If I were in Tracy's situation, I would have devised elaborate maze of booby traps with functional shotguns to blast the invading burglars and power-tripping cops smashing windows and kicking down doors that terrorize the law-abiding homeowner under the guideline of Castle Doctrine, written or unwritten. It would be considered justifiable assault and/or homicide, but that will be rendered moot by subservient corrupt judges of course. Screw America's Drug War! As a former criminal defense lawyer in Arkansas, I can assure you that this is not an isolated event. I had many cases with boilerplate search warrants where they pick out a defendant then look for a crime. In fact, after a particularly illegal raid like this (without the shooting), I raised enough hell to get a US attorney to impanel a federal grand jury to investigate me. I was followed constantly and my clients were harassed and told by the cops that if I represented them the cops would make sure they would regret it. The US attorney offered all of clients extremely sweet deals to come up with something on me. I expected a raid like this on my house at any time. I found it easier to close my practice and leave town. That may seem cowardly to some but unless you've been there you can't understand. I had to do what I could to protect my family. I wish the best for Mr. Ingle. He's is facing something far worse than an uphill battle.
