I have a hard time understanding why this digg story seems to have become so important on prisonplanet. Considering the conspiratorial nature of prisonplanet, I'll go one step further and ask if perhaps there might be some sort of connection between the websites in light of the all the attention you have recently shined onto digg?

This is not a story, this is not news, and it's definitely not an exposition. This is merely redundancy and to point out to your readers over and over again that what is suspected of happening at digg is exactly what is expected to happen at digg is the same as telling us absolutely nothing.

Rather than waste your efforts gathering this seemingly invaluable material of enlightenment, editing it, posting it, etc...why not just give your readers a link to digg and take the rest of the day off? Articles that have high Diggs that should show up in lists don't. Digg's a waste of time anyway because many sites will link to the same aticle or re-publish it while posting their own Digg counter thus splitting the votes for the same article. The BBC WTC 7 article should have had at least 3500 - 4000 but was limited because of linking and splitting. Not to mention the government pussies that bury the stuff anyway. If a bunch of hardcore gay atari-t-shirt-wearing pus-filled freaks want to make themselves feel powerful by burying stories that don't fit with their ideology, let them.

I don't think Digg is worth worrying about. I'm sure there must be a similar outlet somewhere else on the net for discussing content like this, FREELY and... y'know.. like a democracy.

The best thing we can do to really make a diffence now is BOYCOTT Digg (and encourage people to do the same). If they start losing a lot of traffic because of their policy of censorship, it may just make them think twice about it.

Right now I say we should look for an alternative 'news site' similar to Digg and just use that instead. The undemocratic policies of one site isn't worth worrying about too much, spreading the truth IS.

This very same problem reared it's ugly head over at AboveTopSecret and the old ATSNN section. My suggestion back then, which was apparently adopted was to only allow positive voting. That way the best stories rise to the top and there is no mechanism for burying worthy stories by negative votes.

When you think about it, there is no need to have negative votes. If a story is poor it will not garner enough positive votes to get any prominence. That is the truly democratic method for sites such as Digg. We dont get to vote "no" and "yes" for who we supposedly vote for in elections now do we?

There is an other possibility regarding an online "bury" group, and that would be not the govt. directly, or an agency such as the CIA or DIA or NSA etc. but rather some group RECRUITED AND PAID by an agency, perhaps even using a corporate front as a paymaster.

There are scads of accent-free English speakers throughout the third world who are paid a tiny fraction of what customer service workers on the phone USED to be paid here in America, ya know, the phone guys who handled lower level customer support and technical support for 8 to 14 bux per hour, who had their jobs handed over to folks in India and elsewhere who will do the job for 2 to 3 bux per hour. Anyways, there are scads of these english speaking phone-bots that would be thrilled $#!+less to do digg buries over the web for, say, 12 bux an hour, with part of their condition of hire being absolute confidentiality.

Stick to your guns. You are giving digg too much credit. Some of your articles are getting hundreds of diggs, others get a handful. It's just dumb luck. I have posted dozens of stories on digg and some have gotten hundreds of diggs (one was concerning Chinese mobile execution vans) and others only get a couple of diggs. I think it is a reach to suggest a coordinated effort against "truthers". Stick to the truth and what you do best.

I've noticed Digg is useless in trying to bring the issues to "light", even the informative ones, such as "Leo Strauss' Philosophy of Deception" which only got 4 digg points since introduced nearly three months ago. The new posts in Political News & Opinion topic end up being buried unless it's something Little Green Footballs and Jawa Report parties find appealing to keep 'digg'ing to the newly popular or top ten posts of the day.

The essay Is "Digg Dumbb...Or Just Bustedd?" hits the nail on the head. The most "dugg" stories are the standard fare garbage for the technophiles and other types, except the few noteworthy discoveries and articles such as the warehouse of a huge vintage vehicle collection discovered by the new property owner in Portugal and a weird Google Map satellite shot of the flying Tomahawk missile in the southwest region of Utah.

Digg and Wikipedia are often biased if it involves political matter that prompt constant war of change and censure. That's why these two web sites, however influential, give the wrong impression in being authoritative when it comes to the truth and the need to bring to light certain news and well-formed opinion pieces.

Sad, isn't it?
