Sayyed Nasrallah: Hezbollah was Born Victorious

Al Manar TV
Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah stressed the resistance in Lebanon, Palestine and Iraq is an expression of the will of the people that perceives its way and goal.
WE WILL DESTROY BARAK’S FIVE DIVISIONS IN ANY ISRAELI ATTACK ON LEBANON
In a speech he gave during an Iftar (fast breaking) hosted by the Hezbollah Support Committee, his eminence wished all the people and Muslims in particular a happy month of Ramadan and said that the resistance has always known its enemy and has never mistaken his identity. “During recent weeks we have been hearing threats from the enemy. (Israeli Defense Minister Ehud) Barak spoke clearly of the Israeli option for the next stage. He said that his goal is to render the Israeli forces a winning army. They know their navy is weak and that their air force has exhausted all of its options, and it cannot gain a military advantage in the next war, Sayyed Nasrallah said.
The Hezbollah chief also warned that the “moment the enemy feels we are weak it will return to occupy us." He stressed the resistance will not lay down its arms as long as Israel continues to threat Lebanon and breach its sovereignty.
"We are not using the occupied Shebaa Farms as an excuse to bear weapons. If the area is freed the weapons will remain because we are talking about a defensive strategy against a threatening country such as Israel," his eminence said.
Sayyed Nasrallah renewed his pledge to crush Barak’s five divisions if Israel attacks Lebanon. "All of Israel is saying that in a new war against Lebanon the only way to determine victory will be through a massive ground offensive, that's why Barak promised us five divisions. He thought these threats could weaken Lebanon and force it to give up, but I said that these five divisions would be destroyed in the hills and valleys of southern Lebanon. This is not new to the resistance. In the Israeli aggression of 2006, Israel pushed its army including its four elite brigades and they were defeated.”
The Secretary General tackled the issue of the remains of martyrs and the missing. “Today, I can announce that the file of Lebanese detainees in Israeli jails has been closed. Of course we still have the case of Yehya Skaf open. We have received the remains of four martyrs, not complete skeletons. The remains of martyr Dalal Moghrabi is included. We have not been able to reach the desired result through DNA tests in Lebanon, so we need more time to carry out the tests outside Lebanon to close this file once and for all. The results will determine how we will deal with the matter in the future; either as a martyr, alive and missing or still detained in Israel. This needs time to determine based on DNA tests results.”
Sayyed Nasrallah added that during Operation Redwan that saw the release of Lebanese detainees and the remains of 199 martyrs in exchange for two dead Israeli soldiers, neither Hezbollah nor Israel presented false information…However this file is still open because there are Hezbollah martyrs whose remains are not retrieved yet. This needs to be scrutinized. The matter of the missing is not over... We will not give up on a single one of all the resistance movements' fallen. There are martyrs for other resistance forces. But we do not have proof that they are in Israel, therefore the file remains open. As to the file of missing people in Israel, I can say that the data given by the Israelis was not sufficient, even the information they gave about fisherman Mohamad Farran cannot be founded on. There are people who went missing even before 1982, because some families told us that militias who were collaborating with the Israelis in south Lebanon had detained some people who were seen in Israeli jails, but later disappeared. They can be martyrs, but consider them missing. This file is not closed yet. There is ambiguity surrounding the case; some of those missing were taken by pro-Israel militias in the 80’s and then liquidated with or without being handed over to Israel. In fact, it is not enough to search for the missing in Israel alone. We have to ask Israel’s collaborators and Israel ex-friends about them; and we hope that they are only Israel’s ex-friends.”
ARMY HELICOPTER WAS NOT DOWNED
The Hezbollah chief described last week’s incident involving a Lebanese army helicopter and the martyrdom of Captain Samer Hanna as entirely unintentional. “It is a painful incident that could happen in any military in the world. To the father of martyr Hanna, I send him my condolences, and tell him that I understand what the family endures.” Sayyed Nasrallah’s son was martyred during the 1996 Israeli aggression against Lebanon.
His eminence praised the way the “Army Command, the president, the prime minister and the defense minister have dealt with the helicopter incident… they will wait for investigations into the matter to be completed.”
He noted that the “Army Command, in its press release, addressed the issue of responsibility in the helicopter incident when they said unknown gunmen shot it.” The S.G. added that the 19-year-old young man who opened fire at the helicopter acted responsibly and asked his command to turn himself in to military police. “That was his own wish. He told us that there is nothing he would do to embarrass the resistance, after all, he added, I joined the resistance to defend the country and be martyred. So we accepted this, and other members were interrogated as well.” His eminence vehemently denied accusations that the shooting was intentional or has political background. “It is not even a message to the Israelis, because this is not how we send messages to them.” He underlined Hezbollah-Army relations as something the party is very much adhered to.
“We have lost martyrs who were killed by the Lebanese Army itself, yet we were cautious to avoid instigating any conflict with the army…Let no one use this helicopter incident to instigate conflict between the army and the Resistance. Nobody gave orders to shoot the helicopter.” Sayyed Nasrallah spoke in details about the incident and said that the helicopter was not brought down. “It was not brought down, it landed and some of our brothers were surprised and one of them shot it. We coordinated with the army to come take the helicopter. We asked who fired and who ordered him to, and our dignified brother who opened fire came forward himself.”
Lebanese Defense Minister Elias Murr told Lebanese media after initial investigations that the helicopter did not have the same color of the rest of Lebanese army helicopters and that the Lebanese flag on it was not visible.
The Hezbollah chief stressed “our youth are not street boys, they came to the resistance for sacrifice and we do not hand in anybody by force. I reject all comments that the Hezbollah member is a criminal.”
Pro-March 14 daily L’Orient Le Jour anticipated the outcome of investigations and claimed that martyr Hanna was killed execution style. “Everyone took the opportunity to seek to skin Hezbollah alive. I tell you that Hezbollah cannot and will never be skinned. Anyone who thinks he can fulfill this wish someday is mistaken. Hezbollah was born with the sign of victory on its forehead.”
Sayyed Nasrallah said that forces aligned against Hezbollah could only be responded to through resistance: “Pressure today is on UNIFIL, Lebanese authorities and the international community to destroy Hezbollah, but the truth is: the enemy does not care about those who are weak, but they do care about those willing to resist.”
WE DON’T MONOPOLIZE RESISTANCE; YOU HAVE WEAPONS
His eminence also denied charges that Hezbollah has been monopolizing resistance. “We did not monopolize the Resistance at all. We did not forbid anyone from participating in the Resistance. Go ahead, do not say you do not have weapons, you do and this was proved during the May events.”
Sayyed Nasrallah addressed the issue of suspects currently imprisoned for plotting to assassinate him: “There is a group accused of assassinating me, I forgive them and I will send a written letter to the military court urging them and to release them during Ramadan.”
“I hope that the holy month of Ramadan would be a chance to serve justice and return to our inner self. Peace be upon you and may Allah accept your fasting,” Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah concluded.
