Austrian rightist leader Jörg Haider Assasinated, Crash Staged As Cover-Up

Joerg Haider Breaks Off Austrian Ties With Israel

The extreme right advocates Austria for Austrians, lesser minority rights, they deny the Holocaust and want to reaffirm relations with Iran.

Austrian parliamentary elections have passed marked by Joerg Haider and his coalition with the extreme right, which has shaken up Austria, as well as the world, especially the Jewish party, the Jerusalem Post writes.

Haider is famous for denying the Holocaust, which is why Israel refuses to have any relations with those who share his political views. Therefore, following his success in the elections, Israel and Austria will most probably break off diplomatic relations and withdrawal of their ambassador in from Vienna has been announced.

The extreme right in Austria advocates lesser minority rights, which they show very well with their slogan “Austria to Austrians. For your own good”. Of course, numerous Jews in Austria are worried with such policy and reminded of the Nazism era.

Apart from threats from inside Austria, there are foreign-policy threats towards Israel. Chancellor candidate from Haider`s Freedom Party Heinz-Christian Strache advocates that Iran`s sanctions are to be removed, as well as friendship with the country established. In addition, Strache has been accused several times of flirting with neo-Nazis, which has never been denied.

If social democrats manage to form solid deals and form a coalition, then there will not be such a great threat for Israel. Even if the right does not become the ruling party, there will still be concern. They already have at least a third in the Parliament and the information that they have won 30 percent of the votes shows that an exceptionally nationalistic atmosphere rules Austria.

Austrian teens visit Auschwitz - then vote for Joerg Haider

An activist in an Austrian organization commemorating the Holocaust, who traveled last month with a group of 16-year-olds from his country to visit the Auschwitz Nazi death camp in Poland, found to his horror that the youngsters were planning to vote for the extreme right wing political parties in the Austrian elections.

The activist, in his twenties, said that despite their far-right leaning, the teens expressed a genuine interest in learning about the Holocaust, and approached the tour with the appropriate seriousness.

The election, in which far-right parties doubled their representation at the end of last month, was the first election in which the young students were eligible to vote. The activist said he overheard the students saying they were planning to vote for Heinz-Christian Strache's Freedom Party or JoergHaider's Alliance for the Future of Austria - "because of the foreigners."

Another obvious Mossad hit.

Analysis: Israel's hard line against Haider

Israel will be watching Austria carefully as the far-right Freedom Party joins a coalition government despite international warnings.

Israel had threatened to isolate Vienna politically if the party was allowed a share in power, and now it looks as though the government will have little choice.

Israel is heading the international campaign against Joerg Haider's Freedom Party, with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak announcing he would recall his country's ambassador to Vienna, Nathan Meron.

"We here in Israel, and I believe the whole of the Jewish people, will never be able to accept a kind of no-response or not tough enough response to the emergence of neo-Nazi figures and parties into the leadership of Western Europe," Mr Barak said.

But Austria's Freedom Party is democratically elected and growing in popularity. There seems little that Israel can do about that.

Except assassinate him, like they did to Imad Muginyah.

Mossad spied on far-right Austrian

THE ISRAELI secret service spied on Jörg Haider, the right-wing Austrian populist, using one of his closest aides to gather information on his contacts with Arab dictators. Peter Sichrovsky said that he had been a Mossad informant for five years until retiring from politics in 2002.

“I wanted to help Israel and certainly did not do anything wrong,” said Herr Sichrovsky who was secretary-general of Herr Haider’s Freedom party and a member of the European Parliament. The Austrian state prosecutor said yesterday that he would open an investigation to determine whether Herr Sichrovsky should be prosecuted. Spying for a foreign power carries a jail sentence of up to three years in Austria.

The end of Austrian-Israeli relations?

Strache, the Freedom Party candidate for chancellor, has aligned his party with Iran and strongly opposes sanctions to force a suspension of Teheran's nuclear program. The party's founder, Jörg Haider, who has praised Nazi policies, broke ranks in 2005 to head a new rightist party, the Alliance for Austria's Future.
