Halliburton moves headquarters to Dubai

After receiving countless billions from U.S. taxpayers in the form of no-bid contracts, Halliburton will say goodbye to America.

The company is moving its headquarters and its CEO to Dubai (United Arab Emirates). Dubai is home to the filthy rich, and is a gigantic money-laundering center. The Carlyle Group has a major office there.

The United Arab Emirates has no extradition treaty with the US, and is a major trans-shipment point for narcotics out of Afghanistan. A number of ports in the UAE are “free ports,” which means that trans-shipped cargo is not inspected.

Halliburton has 17 subsidiary firms in other tax-haven countries around the world. Its subsidiary KBR is the Pentagon’s largest contractor in Iraq, and is building giant detention centers the USA. KBR has been repeatedly investigated for overcharging.

The new headquarters in Dubai will put Halliburton beyond the reach of Congressional subpoenas, and will make it easier for Halliburton to do business with Iran (which the company has been doing all along.) Meanwhile U.S. law prevents Halliburton’s competitors from also doing any business with Iran.

Halliburton was a main culprit in the Walter Reed Hospital scandal. Services were provided by KBR Government Operations, a private military contractor headed by Al Neffgen. As a Halliburton executive, Neffgen had served contaminated food to the U.S. troops at Iraq dining halls. He also provided them with bathing water soiled with human feces. Despite this, in January 2006 the army gave Neffgen a $120 million "cost-plus" contract for support services and facilities management at Walter Reed Hospital. When Neffgren got the contract, he fired 80% of the federal workers there and replaced them with low-wage workers brought from overseas.

Cheney says he has no financial interests in Halliburton of any kind. In reality, he owns hundreds of thousands of shares of unexercised stock options in Halliburton, while the Bush family owns major shares of KBR.

Radio talk shows are denouncing anyone who questions Bush, Cheney, or Halliburton as a “liberal.”

Dubai was once a home for Middle Eastern pirates. Today it attracts corporate pirates, plus drug lords, gold smugglers, and war profiteers, all of whom live in multi-million dollar mansions. Many Israelis live there. Cheney finalized this deal when he recently toured the area for nine days. He will have a nice Halliburton job if he ever leaves the White House.

Halliburton is incorporated in Delaware, and will retain some operations in Texas.

Its business with Iran is done through subsidiaries, two of which have offices in Tehran.

Seems to me that Halliburton may be threatening Iran with war if they dont play ball. The U.S. military has become Halliburton's Hessians in promoting the Madness of lil' king George.

George Soros, the Jewish investor, knew this was coming, and bought 1.9 million shares of Halliburton stock in the fourth quarter of 2006.

War is good business.
