Turkish F16s intercept Syrian jet from Moscow over 'suspicious cargo'

Turkish F16 fighter jets forced a Syrian airline passenger plane to land in Ankara over suspicions it was carrying "non-civilian" cargo, says the Turkish Foreign Ministry. The Damascus-bound plane, which had departed from Moscow, is being inspected

The Turks let the plane leave at 02:30 (23:30 GMT on Wednesday), after several hours on the ground, but claimed to have first seized contraband from it. Though the Turks will not say what they supposedly found, rumors range from military communications devices to “parts for a missile.”

The Airbus A320 airliner was traveling from Moscow to Damascus with 35 passengers, 17 of which were Russian nationals.

So, all Syrian jets must now avoid Turkish airspace.

Meanwhile, Turkey keeps shipping arms to terrorists in Syria, and the USA has confirmed reports it has established a military task force in Jordan.

My reading of this incident is that NATO will not let Erdogan invade. Therefore Erdogan is trying anything he can to start a war. Each day he looks more like a pathetic clown.
